UPDATE: Police believe one woman responsible for Charleston breaking and entering

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - UPDATE

Detectives with the Charleston Police Department said a woman accused of breaking into and causing tens of thousands of dollars of damage in two downtown buildings is solely responsible for the crime.

Originally, police said, Misty Adkins told them six others were with her during the duration of the crime. 

Police said, at this point in the investigation, that information is unfounded.

A woman is behind bars tonight, charged with breaking and entering.

Detectives with the Charleston Police Department say Misty Adkins, along with several others, broke into the Medical Arts Building along Quarrier Street, stole copper from the building, and caused a significant amount of damage to a number of the rooms and offices there.

Detectives say the crime happened over the weekend.

 Adkins was just arrested this evening for her role in the crime.

More arrests are expected to be made very soon as detectives continue to investigate the case.
