Intruder Shot And Killed By Homeowner In Kanawha County Identified

JEFFERSON, WV (WOWK) -  

UPDATE: 1/13/2018 @ 2:00 P.M.

Timothy Dean Coker, 24, of Ripley, was shot and killed this morning after he broke into a home in the 200 Block of Destiny Lane in Jefferson.

According to Kanawha County Deputy Sheriffs, Mr. Coker broke in through a window in the garage where the 82 year old homeowner was working and threatened the homeowner.

The homeowner pulled a firearm and shot Mr. Coker.

Mr. Coker succumbed to his injuries and died.

No charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner.

Dispatchers tell 13 News that deputies are on the scene of a shooting in Jefferson this morning.

It was reported just before 4:30a near the 200 block of Destiny Lane.

The victim's status is unknown at this time.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department and Kanawha County EMS are on the scene.
