Suspect arrested for New Year's Eve shooting in Scioto County

SCIOTO COUNTY, OH (WOWK) - Deputies with the Scioto County Sheriff's Office have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred in South Webster on December 31st, 2017. 

According to a release, the shooting took place near the 500 block of Jackson Fork Road.

When deputies arrived, they found 36-year-old Robert Betz, of South Webster, with an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. 

Betz was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he was listed as being in stable condition. 

Deputies identified Seth A. Demand, 18, of South Webster as a suspect in the shooting and he was taken into custody. 

The investigation is ongoing.
