Man Arrested after Stabbing at West Virginia Taco Bell

CLARKSBURG, WV (WBOY) - UPDATE (1/23/18 at 5:45 p.m.):

Clarksburg Police said Matthew McCartney was arrested for a stabbing at Taco Bell Tuesday afternoon.

McCartney was arrested near K-Mart and is being charged with malicious assault.

A Taco Bell employee was stabbed in the chest, police said.

One person was taken to the hospital following a reported stabbing at Taco Bell, according to 911 officials.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Taco Bell on Emily Drive in Clarksburg.

Harrison County 911 officials said one person was transported to the hospital by EMS, and police had one person detained for the incident at 4 p.m.

The Clarksburg Police Department is handling the investigation. They responded to the scene, along with Bridgeport and Anmoore police, the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, the Clarksburg Fire Department, and Bridgeport EMS.
