HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) - For RE/MAX relator Tammy Spurlock, millennial home buyers are her favorite clients. "I think it's a great place to work and live. It would be awesome to see more millennials come to our area, they are the most knowledgeable generation they have knowledge at their finger tips with the internet and social media and I see them to be very well educated before they contact a relator."
And according to USA Today West Virginia is ranked #1 as having the most affordable homes for millennials. "In the bigger cities I think they do have problems because if you're in Portland or charlotte the homes are more expensive and millennials typically don't have the money," adds Spurlock.
But even in West Virginia, many millennials and college students like Marshall University student Chelsea, are focused on debt and feel homes still are too expensive. "I have no intentions of buying a home because my debt is substantial," she said.
Spurlock says she recommend Millennial home buyers research the area they want to live in and make sure they can get approved for a mortgage.
