JEFFERSON -- Police were investigating after a deputy was assaulted after responding to a fight outside a strip club early Tuesday.
Deputy Marsh was on routine patrol in the Jefferson area when he noticed two females arguing on the parking lot of Shockers' Lounge about 2:20 a.m., according to a release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
He pulled on to the lot and one of the women, Roberta Clay, 34, of Jefferson came over and told Marsh she had been bitten on the thigh by the other female she was arguing with.
Clay alleges that she was dancing at the club and Lorrie Jo O'Dell, 35, of St. Albans, became irate and bit Clay.
Marsh asked O'Dell what happened and she pushed and slapped him in the face, the release said.
O'Dell was placed in South Central Regional Jail on misdemeanor assault charges.
