Nitro -- Friday will be the official grand opening of tables games at Tri-state Race Track and Gaming Center.
But Thursday at what was called the soft opening hundreds of people lined up to get their chips and try their luck.
Poker was the only game being hosted Thursday.
More dealers still have to be trained for games like Black Jack, Roulette and Craps.
For now players are just happy the cards are finally on the table.
"Its something I've done for a while and waited to come to Charleston," said Jason Payne. "Now its finally here so I'm ready to go."
Twenty-four tables were open for poker play Thursday night.
Track officials expect to have the other games ready in about six weeks.
