23-year-old female killed in single-vehicle accident identified.

Story by Craig McKee

SISSONVILLE -- Interstate 77 Southbound at milemarker 106 near Sissonville is now reopen following a single-vehicle accident this morning.

Dispatchers tell 13News a vehicle flipped on its side, and one person was killed.

State Troopers and Kanawha County deputies on scene shut down I-77 shortly after the accident at around 11:30 Thursday morning. The lanes were closed for more than an hour to reconstruct the accident. After investigation deputies believe the Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck traveled off the right roadway edge, struck the embankment and then flipped over, coming to rest in the south bound lanes.

Investigators say the driver was 23-year-old Autumn Meadows of Ripley, WV. She died from injuries in the accident. Investigators say Meadows was not wearing a seatbelt and wet roads may have contributed to the accident.

No, her sister (who is a twin) was giving birth to her first child and Autumn was going there to be with her. The name was not released for awhile because they did not want her sister to find out while she was in labor (if you can imagine this situation).

She was originally from Chapmanville, WV, born and raised. She married her high school sweetheart that she had dated since 9th grade. They also have a baby boy, Landen who I think is a little over a year old.

This is such a tragedy.

And you are right, she is the first cousin of Anna Gill who died in a similiar auto accident at the age of 19, 5 years ago. The two girls were best friends. The similarities are very eerie between the girl's accidents.

She will be missed so much. She was really a light in people's lives.

Her twin sister gave birth on the day of the accident. She is the daughter of David Armentrout, and the first cousin of Anne Gill, who was killed in an auto accident several years ago.
