Story by Craig McKee
SISSONVILLE -- Interstate 77 Southbound at milemarker 106 near Sissonville is now reopen following a single-vehicle accident this morning.
Dispatchers tell 13News a vehicle flipped on its side, and one person was killed.
State Troopers and Kanawha County deputies on scene shut down I-77 shortly after the accident at around 11:30 Thursday morning. The lanes were closed for more than an hour to reconstruct the accident. After investigation deputies believe the Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck traveled off the right roadway edge, struck the embankment and then flipped over, coming to rest in the south bound lanes.
Investigators say the driver was 23-year-old Autumn Meadows of Ripley, WV. She died from injuries in the accident. Investigators say Meadows was not wearing a seatbelt and wet roads may have contributed to the accident.
