More and more parents are trying alternative treatments to medicine like chiropractic care.

HUNTINGTON -- Cabell County Chiropractor Brett Short doesn't just treat adults. Many of his patients now include young children.
"We do see quite a few children and have great results," said Short.
Short said chiropractic care can treat a wide variety of childhood problems from headaches to asthma to earaches.
"I've had some amazing results," Short said.
Short says his own son, 11-year-old Andrew, is even one of his patients.
But skeptics say there's not enough proof that the practice is safe and effective. Even chiropractors say they'd like to see more evidence to back up their treatment.
"What there's not enough research of is the treatment of more childhood conditions like the middle ear infections and asthma and colic," said Short.
Experts say it's important to consult with a trusted chiropractor, and make sure they're comfortable treating children.
Some chiropractors do have specialized training in pediatrics.
