CHARLESTON -- It is quiet, clean, renewable, and comes from the mountain state.
A gasless generator called the PowerWagon was the center piece of a demonstration at the State Capitol today.
The turning wheels of the wagon charge generators as it is towed to the job site. Governor Manchin even got in on the act, using tools powered by the wagon. The Governor praised the start up Huntington business on their creative and environmentally friendly products.
According to company officials it is not just for construction it can also be used in emergencies or for more recreational activities like camping tailgating or hunting. Says company Vice President Nathan Daugherty “With this product you have no noise pollution. No air pollution from burning gas. This product charges while being towed down the road. For these workers when they leave the jobsite today and go home and then come back in the morning they will have made their power today. So they are capturing the power they are spending to get to work and back.”
Today the company announced that they had been awarded a patent number.
