HUNTINGTON -- The official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Barnett Center got underway Saturday morning in Huntington.

The Huntington Weed and Seed Program and the Huntington Police Department Field Office hosted the event and invited the public to get to know their neighbors at a picnic following the ceremony.

Mayor Kim Wolfe, HPD Chief Skip Holbrook, and the Cub Troop from Spring Hill Elementary School were just a few who participated in the ribbon -cutting ceremony.

The Weed and Seed program involves law enforcement and prosecutors *weeding* out violent criminals and drug abusers and community based organizations working to *seed* intervention and treatment programs.
