At Issue: The selection of a new board member, and the meeting turns ugly

HUNTINGTON --  The selection of a new Cabell County school board member turned into an argument Wednesday Night.

For several weeks, school board members have tried to select a member to replace another one who resigned. But members can't come to an agreement. And the discussion turned into a shouting match.

The board meeting turned to an argument when members could not decide on a new board member.

They had the candidates narrowed down to three, but when they couldn't decide, shouting erupted from the board and the audience.

At one point, the board members sat in silence for more than 20 minutes.

The Cabell County school board adjourned without naming a new member.
