Sting operation is part of the Kanawha County Sheriff's office preventing underage drinking program
CHARLESTON -- The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Commission teamed up Monday evening and made two arrests for selling alcohol to minors.
Mandy Kennedy, 24, of Cross Lanes was cited for selling alcoholic beverages to a minor at the Cruz Thru Convenience Store in Nitro.
Larry Smith, 59, of Nitro was also cited when he sold beer to a minor at the Sam’s Citgo in Nitro.
Monday night's sting operation is part of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Preventing Underage Drinking Program.
The undercover sting operations are conducted several times a year at various locations within Kanawha County.
The store clerks/businesses face possible fines thru Magistrate Court and sanctions from the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Commission.
