LEXINGTON, Ky -- Thirty months ago, Patrick Patterson was named as a McDonald's All-American at Huntington High School.
Monday, the Cabell County-native received another red, white, and blue honor.
The 6-foot, 9-inch power forward for Kentucky was voted as an NCAA Preseason All-American by the Associated Press.
Patterson averaged 17.9 points and 9.3 rebounds for the Wildcats last season, and is expected to see an increased roll under UK's new head coach John Calipari.
Notre Dame's Luke Harangody was the top vote getter from the AP.
Patterson joins Harangody, Duke's Kyle Singler, and Kansas's Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich as the five representatives on the team.
