MORGANTOWN -- The WVU Football team is trying to bounce back from last week's loss to South Florida. Despite that, a couple of Mountaineers have been singled out nationally for a couple of awards.
Let's begin with running back Noel Devine. He is one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award which is given to the nation's best college football player.
Devine has rushed for 954 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He has also caught 17 passes for 138 yards and another touchdown.
Reed Williams has also been singled out nationally as one of ten finalists for the ARA National Sportsmanship Award.
This award is given to the division one football player who best personifies the spirit of sportsmanship.
Williams is a double major in finance and marketing and he is described as a humble leader with exceptional character who always takes time for fans and children.
The winner of the ARA award will be named in December.
