South Point Bridge to Be Renamed Today

The bridge will now be called "William A. Gaskin Bridge."

South Point, Ohio -- The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce along with the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation will be hosting a ribbon cutting today as the U.S. 52 overpass on Solida Road becomes the "William A. Gaskin Bridge."

The dedication honors Gaskin who has been mayor of South Point since 1979 and has also served on the Ohio Public Works Committee, Ohio Mayor's Association, Ohio Municipal League, Lawrence Economic Development Corporation as well as the Huntington/Ironton Empowerment Zone Committee to establish the Point Industrial Park.

The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. followed by a open reception at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce office.
