RAVENSWOOD -- A group of Jackson County senior citizens prefer to think of themselves as recycled teenagers, and this Christmas they are proving that youth is a state of mind.
They've been working since October to brighten their community one light at a time with an elaborate luminary masterpiece.
For the last three years, the group of volunteers has been decorating the park in Ravenswood for the holidays.
They started out with a few wooden displays and now they have over $30,000 worth of sparkling cheer donated by the businesses and individuals.
"It just needs livened up," said volunteer Richard Boyd. "That's what this place is all about."
The Christmas in the Park display will debut for the public Friday at 5:30 p.m..
