Charleston, WV -- Heavy rains overnight have some low lying roads under water Monday morning.
**Update with Kanawha County cars under water**
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, WV, several cars had to be towed out of the Pinch-Quick intersection around 5:30 this morning due to high water. This is a known trouble spot for flooding. **End update 6:35a.m."
**Update with water rescue**
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, Kentucky, one person had to be rescued in the Prestonsburg, KY area after becoming stuck in a vehicle in high water earlier this morning. The message from NWS relayed from Floyd County Emergency Managers said water was over highway 1427 at abut 3:30am. Water rescue was required after the motorist drove into high water. **End update 6:18 a.m.**
Area officials report water over Smith Creek Road between South Charleston and Tornado, WV as well as water filling the underpass at Kanawha Terrace and Rt 60.
Stormtracker 13 morning meteorologist Jared Hoffman also reports water over some roads in southern Wayne County in the Dunlow, WV area.
Flash flood warnings were issued until 6am for portions of southeast Kentucky where many area roads have water reported on them including Johnson KY, Martin KY, Magoffin KY, Floyd KY and Breathitt KY.
Flood advisories were posted for small streams and creeks in the following counties: Kanawha WV, Putnam WV, Wayne WV, Lincoln WV, and Lawrence KY until 11:45am. Also Flood Advisories were ordered for the following counties until 10:30am: Braxton WV, Roane WV, Calhoun WV, Gilmer WV, Lewis WV and Clay WV
UPDATE**
Some of the flood advisories have been extended. Lincoln and Kanawha Counties have Flood Advisories in effect until 5:45. Until 1:30 for Braxton, Roane, Calhoun and Clay Counties. And Until 1:15 for Johnson, Martin, Floyd and Magoffin Counties in Kentucky.
Also a Flood Warning is in effect along the Little Kanawha River in Calhoun and Gilmer counties until the overnight hours. **End Update of advisories 12:12PM.
Stormtracker 13 Chief Meteorologist Spencer Adkins says it's important to remember that if water covers the road it's better not to even try to drive into that area.
More heavy rain is expected to lift to the north and east slowly Monday morning and Flood Watches remain in effect for a large portion of West Virginia from Logan all the way up through Morgantown, West Virginia. Those flood watches continue until Monday afternoon.
