BUFFALO -- For nearly 60 years, the town of Buffalo in Putnam County has been celebrating the Fourth of July.
Every year, one of the highlights of the day is the parade.
Saturday afternoon, dozens of entries made their way from one end of town to the other.
Organizers said the celebration also brings those who used to live in Buffalo back to see family and friends.
Over the years, the event has grown into one of Buffalo's more beloved activities.
One of the entries in the Buffalo Fourth of July Parade focused on the upcoming Putnam County School Bond referendum vote. It's a $56 million referendum.
If passed, the money will go toward eight building projects including a new Poca Middle and Elementary School, as well as a new Buffalo High School.
School officials said they want voters to understand the facts, especially that the money can only be used for building projects.
Some people have been misinformed," said Putnam County teacher Carol Blackburn. "They think some of this money is going to pay raises, and people are set in their ways. They don't want to have their taxes increased and think it's going to pay raises."
People in Putnam County will vote on the school bond referendum August 29.
