CHARLESTON -- One person is dead after an accident in Sissonville.

Kanawha County dispatchers tell 13 News the call came just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, reporting a vehicle had gone over a hill and caught fire at 7433 Sissonville Drive.

According to Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies, the driver, Oral Rardon, 56 , from Sissonville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Christopher Young, 31, from Sissonville, received serious injuries and was transported to CAMC General.

In a news release, police say preliminary information indicates that the vehicle, a 1995 Buick Regal, was traveling north on Sissonville Drive and was attempting to negotiate a left hand curve. The vehicle traveled off the roadway over an embankment and flipped over several times, coming to rest in the middle of the field.

Dispatchers told us both the driver and passenger were partially ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. Kanawha County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

umm, i'm assuming "i ant tellin" is referring to another story b/c it's completely irrelevant to this story. not sure about speed, but alcohol was a factor. the survivor is in critical condition & awaiting treatment. no matter the factors in this ordeal, my prayers are with the families.
