PARSONS -- Troopers with the Parsons detachment have arrested a man for concealing what is believed to be his wife's body.
They arrested Wesley Scott Cale, Sr. just before 1 p.m. Friday at a camp he owns or co-owns in the Lead Mine community, according to 1st Sgt. J. A. Wise.
Someone called in an anonymous tip Friday morning, telling troopers that Cale's car was parked at his mother-in-law's home in the Moore community, Wise said.
When troopers responded to the home, they saw the car, which Wise said was not there on Thursday.
Magistrate Carol Irons arraigned Cale and set his bond at $150,000 cash only, stated Wise.
Cale is in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
About 20 troopers and members of civilian search-and-rescue teams began searching property on Licking Creek Road early Wednesday morning, looking for the remains of Bonnie Lueann Woods-Cale, who disappeared in 2002, State Police said.
A West Virginia University professor brought in a ground-penetrating radar which measures the density of the earth, and shows where the ground has been disturbed, according to Wise.
Investigators found the remains at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday.
Although they will have to wait for the autopsy to be completed by the Office of the Medical Examiner in Charleston, Wise said clothing and jewelry found at the scene lead them to believe that the body is that of Bonnie Woods-Cale.
Troopers decided to search the property after they began reviewing Cale's case file and listening to interviews again.
Cale was supposed to be heading to Cleveland, Ohio to visit her father on March 24, 2002, but never made it there.
Her vehicle, a black 1991 Chevrolet Blazer, was found in Webster County on Birch River Road, about nine miles south of Cowen.
State Police troopers said they are investigating this as a murder.
