Deputies said more charges could be filed in the incident

SISSONVILLE -- Kanawha County deputies are investigating after a man was hit by a car after an argument in Sissonville.

Deputies were called to Walker Drive late Tuesday night. When they arrived, the victim, Richard Shamblin, 22, was laying on the ground.

Shamblin told deputies his mother-in-law, Kimberly Daugherty, had pushed him into the path of a Jeep and left the scene. Deputies said Shamblin and Daugherty got into a physical fight after an argument.

Shamblin was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center to be treated for injuries to his leg.

A short time later, investigators found the vehicle in Sissonville, and arrested Daugherty, charging her with attempted murder.

The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are likely.
