FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - President Barack Obama is playing a starring role in Kentucky's hotly contested Senate race despite Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes' efforts to distance herself from him. Grimes this week aired an ad in which she explicitly says she is not Obama and disavows his positions on guns, coal and the Environmental Protection Agency.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A fund has been started in Louisville to support research into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. The fund will help back research at the University of Louisville Physicians ALS Clinic.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Business organizations in Louisville and southern Indiana are pushing to lure more soldiers who are leaving the military to either move to the area or stay after being discharged from Fort Knox. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A fourth person has been arrested in the death of a 16-month-old Louisville girl who was shot while sitting on her porch with her mother last month. Community activist Christopher 2X told The Courier-Journal that Demarkus Tramber turned himself in at the Jefferson County public defender's office Tuesday.
