CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland police say a Maryland traveler who refused to turn off his cellphone and fought with flight attendants as a plane taxied for takeoff was jailed pending disorderly conduct charges. A police spokesman tells The Northeast Ohio Media Group the 27-year-old man argued with attendants and passengers on a Baltimore-bound Southwest Airlines flight departing Cleveland Hopkins International Airport late last night. The captain returned the plane to the gate.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Attorneys for a former Ohio policeman imprisoned and then exonerated in his ex-wife's slaying argue he should automatically get a new trial. A state appeals court recently ruled a Summit County judge should decide whether 68-year-old Douglas Prade gets a new trial in the 1997 shooting death of Dr. Margo Prade. But the judge has delayed a Monday hearing on the matter.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - With hopes of winning the governorship damaged, Ohio Democrats are shifting resources away from the top of the ticket into a coordinated victory campaign focused on getting out the vote. CLEVELAND (AP) - An important piece of Cleveland history will be celebrated tomorrow with the reopening of historic League Park, once home to the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Buckeyes of the Negro Leagues. The city has spent $6.3 million to turn an empty, trash-strewn field into a handsome ballpark with a playing surface of all-weather field turf.
