David Iversen began working for WOWK in March 2011. He feels privileged to bring viewers the stories that matter to them and their communities.
After graduating George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, David went North to attend the Journalism School at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. While in college, he worked as a reporter in Alexandria, Minnesota. Just ten days after graduation, he began working in Tupelo, Mississippi and most recently Jackson, Tennessee.
His career has been marked by numerous awards, most recently Associated Press awards for News Photography and Breaking News Coverage during the April 2010 floods that ravaged North Mississippi and parts of Tennessee.
New to the area, David is eager to meet the folks that live and work here. You'll find him digging into stories in a way few other reporters do. He is the guy 13News turns to when he a story needs investigating. In his free time, he volunteers for numerous organizations or gets lost looking for a good hiking or canoeing spot. He also spends far too much time on Twitter and Facebook. David loves to tell interesting and important stories. If you have something for David to investigate, send him an email!
