A teen was taken to the hospital Thursday after being shot.

Just before 10 a.m., officers were called to Cabell Huntington Hospital after a report of a teenage boy being shot, according to a report.

The young man told officers he was walking in an alley around Highlawn Park on his way to a friends house.

The teen said a silver four-door Toyota with West Virginia drove up and an unknown suspect pointed a gun and yelled obscenities at him. The suspect then fired five to six shots.

The teen then ran and he later noticed he was shot in the left hand at the base of his pinky finger. He walked to a friend's house in Guyandotte, called his mom and was taken to the hospital.

No arrests have been made.
