State Fire Investigator Jason Baltic said an abandoned house fire in Boone County earlier this week cannot be conclusively ruled as arson, because the structure was damaged too badly.

The fire happened late Tuesday night at an address in Seth, although Baltic does not believe this is connected to an earlier string of fires in a nearby area.

"Even though this building had a Seth address, like the others, this is an isolated event," said Baltic.

Because the building was abandoned, he said it is "probably arson," but can't say with certainty.

No one was injured in the fire.
