Dog Rescued From Cross Lanes Fire

Crews were able to save a dog from a house fire in Kanawha County Wednesday morning.

The fire began at about 10:30 a.m. on Washington Street West in Cross Lanes.

The homeowner, James McCutcheon, said he came home from a trip to Walgreens and found his house on fire.

Volunteer fire crews were first to respond.

A Kanawha County Sheriff's deputy was able to rescue the man's dog from inside.

The house sustained a lot of damage according to C.W. Sigman, Kanawha County's deputy emergency manager.
