A former member of the 13News family has died.
Don Harmon, 41, who was a meteorologist at WOWK in the late 1990s, died in Kansas City, Mo., Nov. 27.
He left WOWK in 1999 for WDAF-TV in Kansas City, where he still worked. On Wednesday, the station issued a statement about his death.
"We are very saddened by this tragic loss," President and General Manager Cheryl McDonald said in the statement. "Don wasn't just our Meteorologist, he was a part of our family and we loved him. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed."
Harmon was a native of Marietta, Ohio. Police have ruled his death a suicide, according to the Kansas City Star. He is survived by a wife and daughter, according to the newspaper.
