Logan Fire Ruled Suspicious; 25 Families Displaced

Posted: Updated:

A fire that destroyed an apartment building in Logan Thursday night has been ruled suspicious.

Fire authorities continued looking into the cause of the blaze at 5 p.m. Friday at the Foxx Apartment Complex on Stratton Street.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze, but the number of families that were displaced has increased from 10 to 25. That is because apartments next to the building that caught fire also were damaged, according to authorities.

Officials in Logan are looking for ways to help the displaced families, they said. One possibility is funding from the federal government.

The Red Cross also is helping.

The families stayed at a nearby church Thursday night and Friday. They might have to leave the church, however, because of limited space. One possibility is moving them to the old East Junior High School building, officials said.
