Home near Poca catches fire twice in a day

Poca -

Fire ravaged a trailer for a second time in a day Monday near Poca.

Putnam County 911 dispatchers tell us the home on Heizer Creek first caught fire around 2 a.m.

Poca and Bancroft Volunteer Fire Department both responded. When firefighters arrived there were heavy flames visible, but the family that lives there got out safely.

Firefighters were called back to the house about 11 a.m. when neighbors saw smoke. That blaze was quickly extinguished as well.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of either fire. A firefighter on the scene told 13 News the time span between fires made it unlikely that it had rekindled, but he wouldn't rule it out.
