Matthew Mullins killed in wreck near Pinch

An Elkview man was killed in a late-night wreck near Pinch Wednesday.

Matthew A. Mullins, 35, was driving a 2002 Toyota Echo north on Indian Creek Road at about 11:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. The vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole.

Mullins appeared to have not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was killed in the crash, according to the news release. A passenger in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt and refused medical attention at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the news release.
