A Kanawha County man, charged with having a sexual relationship with his 14-year-old student, is back in jail.

West Virginia State Police troopers said Maurice White, 61, violated his home confinement. In August, White was charged with sexual abuse by a guardian and possession of child pornography.

Police said White was sending the victim's friend text messages trying to arrange a meeting. Authorities said a friend of the victim told her principal that White was trying to contact the young teen again.

Police said White was the victim's fifth grade teacher at Gauley Bridge Elementary in Fayette County.

He was also working as a substitute teacher at Valley High School before his first arrest.
