Pet owners nationwide may soon have trouble getting medicine for their animals.
Novartis, the company that makes popular medicines like Interceptor, Deramaxx and others has suspended production for now.
The move comes because of a packaging problem with human over-the-counter products.
Pet owners in Kanawhya County said they are hoping things will get back to normal soon.
"Hopefully if it is a heartworm product they will have enough to get through until the product is available again," said Jonathan Warner, a Veterinarian at Good Shepherd Vet Hospital. "If it is a pain medication they need to talk to their vet about alternatives."
None of the animal products were affected by the packaging problem so any pills already purchased are safe.
