For a college player like P. J. Reyes, the odds of him transferring to a different school for just his senior year are typically slim.
However, when head coach Mark Downey saw the guard play, he knew there was something special about him especially his shooting ability.
The 6'5" guard is already making a quick impact for the University of Charleston, averaging 20 points a game, shooting 47 percent from the field.
Reyes has played ball for other teams in Colorado and most recently the University of South Alabama, but he said he feels most comfortable with the Golden Eagles.
Not only has Reyes been a factor on offense but defense as well,. He currently leads the team with 19 blocks and 7 rebounds. Head coach Mark Downey feels that will be the difference in the WVIAC.
As far as motivation, Reyes said he is just thankful to play the game and when he is on the court, it always feels like home .
