Police in Athens, Ohio, still looking for fugitive Billy Caudill

    A tractor trailer is blocking part of Route 2. The road is closed until further notice. Drivers heading in both direction are being asked to use the Big Ben Bowen Highway connector by Target to get around.

According to Ohio University's website, a man who is wanted in connection with a bank robbery has been reported near campus in Athens.

Billy J. Caudill is considered armed and dangerous. He's suspected in connection with the Wednesday robbery of a People's Bank in Carroll, Ohio, and was seen Thursday night in Athens.

The university's website states that Caudill is 5-feet, 7-inches, weighs 195 pounds and has hazel eyes.  Caudill is also believed to be clean shaven and has a shaved head.

Caudill was last spotted in the area of Union and Shaffer Streets. 

Ohio University alert messages state people are advised to avoid the area, do not walk alone and report all suspicious activity to the Athens Police.

The Ohio University Police Department told 13News there are extra police officers patrolling the area. The officers are still searching for the suspect, and there was no need for a shelter in place.
