
Marshall continues to struggle in the new year, falling to Memphis Saturday night, 83-76.
The Thundering Herd's losing streak is now at four games.
The Herd stormed out of the gate in the first half behind DeAndrea Kane's 12 points.
Unfortunately, Kane was held to the bench for most of the second half due to foul trouble and only scored three more points the rest of the game.
Dennis Tinnon and Robert Goff fouled out late in the second half.
Marshall took a 41-40 lead into halftime but that lead was short lived.
Memphis slowly slipped past the Herd late in the second half behind Will Barton and Tarik Black.
Both combined for 48 of the Tigers' 83 points.
Shaq Johnson led the way for the Herd with 21 points.
Marshall has now lost five straight to the Tigers in Memphis and have now dropped to 4-5 since January 1.
Marshall drops to 13-8 and 4-3 in Conference USA play.
The Herd returns to Huntington on Wednesday to play Tulane.
