UPDATE

A crisis team has been called in to help students at Hurricane High School on Wednesday.

They will be counseling classmates of Jacob Ball, 16, a sophomore at the high school who was killed on Tuesday afternoon when a train struck him.

Witnesses said Ball was walking the tracks to get home from school.

Some of his classmates said they had seen him wearing earphones earlier, but authorities have not confirmed if that may have been a factor in the accident.

"You are not going to see him in the hallways, and now the fact he was there and now gone," said Madeline Schempp, one of Ball's classmates.

Dalton Rutledge said what many students at Hurricane High School are thinking. "He's gone it's just not gonna be the same."

Funeral arrangements for Jacob Ball are pending.
