Marshall Head Football Coach Doc Holliday did not have to go far to find one of his newest recruits.

In fact, Holliday only had to go 20 minutes east of campus to find one of his newest defenders.

Lineback  Ryan Riedel of Cabell Midland is heading to Marshall.

Riedel, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker gave his verbal commitment to the Herd back in August.

But on Wednesday, Riedel put pen to paper and made it official.

He had interested from Purdue, Illinois, Duke, Pittsburgh and Ohio, but Marshall was the perfect fit.
