West Virginia lawmakers are considering new mine safety legislation aimed at keeping the deadly Upper Big Branch Mine disaster in focus.

The House and Senate Judiciary committees have scheduled information hearings for today and Tuesday in the House of Delegates chamber.

State regulators and a West Virginia Coal Association official are on today's agenda.

Lawmakers expect to hear Tuesday from the United Mine Workers Union and safety experts.
