Just like the men, the Marshall Women's Basketball team has struggled of late – lost six of their last seven.
The Thundering Herd hosted UAB Sunday afternoon
In the second half, Marshall was down when UAB's Amber Jones made the lead five. She got a running one-hander to fall – the Blazers were up 42-37.
But the Herd answered back. Rotations found Rasheda Henriques from down town. She stroked the triple. The UAB lead was cut to two.
A few players later, Marshall was trailing again by three with less than three minutes to play when Laterdia Elliot picked Amber Jones' pocket and she went to the other end strong. She got the lay in to fall, no foul called on the play though.
UAB was up 47-45 when LaShaunda Pratt came up with a foot behind the line and buried the tagger in the Herd's hearts.
The Blazers inched past the Herd, 50-45.
Marshall fell to
13-9 and has now dropped seven of eight.
