Doc Holliday and the rest of the Marshall football program may have recruited a gem out Virginia last week.

The Herd inked Devon Johnson, the all-time leading rusher at Richlands High School, on National Signing Day.

Johnson scored 26 touchdowns for the Blue Tornado in 2011. He also played linebacker and led the team with 112 tackles, including 34 for a loss.

Holliday said he was more impressed with Johnson's defensive stats and will only use him as linebacker.

Doc is said Wednesday that Johnson's freakish athletic ability is exactly what Marshall needs right now.
