The commissioner of the Northern Professional Hockey League, Chuck Harrison, and the league's director of franchise development, Mike Chighisola, will be coming to Huntington Feb. 24.
This league, set to begin play in fall 2012, is hoping to emphasize greater community involvement, according to a news release Thursday. But it still wants to provide competitive hockey at affordable prices.
Officials also plan to meet with a number of potential investors in a hockey franchise for Huntington during the visit.
They also plan to attend the Feb. 25 hockey game between Marshall University and Wheeling Jesuit University.
That game will be played at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena.
