Local High School Students excelled in State Swim Meet

The high school state swim meet wrapped up in Morgantown on Friday.

Capital high school was represented well.

Tate Warden won the 200 yard Freestyle but he was also the anchor on the 200 yard freestyle relay team for the Cougars.

Another big winner from the area was South Charleston's Austin Green.

 He wins in the 100 Freestyle relay and then set a new state record in the 100 yard breast stroke breaking last years record by more than a second.

In the girls swim meet Nitro senior Megan Clemens won the 500 yard Freestyle beating out the favorite in the event, Winfield freshman Madisyn Lyons.

She helped out in other races as well giving Nitro an 8th place finish in the team rankings.
