Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and a panel of experts are looking for ways to retool higher education, to better meet the changing job market.

Marshall University President Stephen Kopp told 13 News it puts the state's higher education leaders in direct touch with Washington.

"I thought this was a very productive and worthwhile exchange," said Kopp. "It gives us the opportunity to tell someone in Washington what higher education and public higher education is facing."

Manchin told 13 News he wants Washington to help schools better match resources to priorities.
