    Nine Martinsburg, West Virginia, residents and another from Keyser were sentenced to federal prison for breaking the law while they were on supervised release or probation.

Jessie Shafer joined the 13NEWS team in March of  2012.

Born and raised in the Kanawha Valley, Jessie moved to Huntington to study broadcast journalism at Marshall University.  While there, she worked as a sports reporter and covered general Marshall news with her MU Report news team.  

Jessie has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Broadcasting Society for her radio and television news stories.  

As a proud Pinch, W.Va., native, Jessie feels extremely privileged to share interesting and insightful news in her home state.  

In her free time, Jessie loves to be with her family and friends, spend as much time as possible outdoors, travel, cook, and give back to the community.
