The Forensic Science Graduate Program at Marshall University is the first in the nation to receive accreditation in digital evidence through the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission.

The first scholarship fund for the Forensic Science Graduate Program has been set up. The Paul H. and Dixie O. Nicely Scholarship Fund has been established.

The accreditation will now distinguish the program nationally according to director Terry Fenger.

The Forensic Science Graduate Program is a two-year master's degree program.

The four areas of emphasis in the program are DNA analysis, crime scene investigation, digital forensics and forensic chemistry.
