CLEVELAND (AP) - A dozen Cleveland police supervisors are planning to appeal after being disciplined for their roles in the chase in which officers fired 137 shots, killing a fleeing driver and his passenger. The discipline includes the firing of a sergeant. A captain and lieutenant were demoted and nine other sergeants were suspended for up to 30 days. Supervisory officer union president Brian Betley calls the discipline heavy-handed.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The superintendent for a Roman Catholic Diocese has declined to reinstate a gay teacher who is challenging her firing by a Catholic school. Carla Hale says she was fired from Bishop Watterson High School after her partner's name was revealed in her mother's published obituary.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Supporters of expanding the Medicaid program to include more low-income people are urging Ohio lawmakers to restore the proposal to the state budget. The group Advocates for Ohio's Future said Tuesday that it's open to separate legislation that achieves the same goal, as long as it's passed by June 30th, the same deadline the budget faces.

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Funeral services have been announced for former Miami (Ohio) basketball coach Charlie Coles, the school's all-time leader in victories who died at age 71. Visitation will Thursday morning at Millett Hall on the Miami campus in southwest Ohio. Funeral services will follow. The 2-time Mid-American Conference coach of the year had 263 victories at Miami.
