Polls open for WV primary elections

Posted: Updated:
CHARLESTON, WV -

The polls are open in West Virginia.

Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., and voters who arrive at their precincts before 7:30 p.m. but are not able to vote because of lines or other waits will be given "waiting voter permit" passes to enable them to cast their ballots.

Several offices are on the ballots, from U.S. president, to the West Virginia Board of Public Works, the Legislature and several judges.

Redistricting has changed the game for many voters and politicians. Several polling places have changed, and many incumbent lawmakers have seen their districts shifted or have been shrunk.

Visit the West Virginia Secretary of State's website to check polling place locations and for a list of candidates.
