Despite ominous skies, the high school baseball sectionals did go forward. In a Triple A Region 3 semifinal, South Charleston broke out to an early lead over Riverside, but the Warriors fought back to win it 12 to 8. Riverside will now meet the winner of Princeton/Woodrow Wilson.
In the Triple A Region 4 Semi's, Nitro outlasted Parkersburg South 4-2. The Wild Cats will now meet Winfield, who knocked off Huntington 3-2 in the other Region 4 Semi.
In the Single A, Region 4 final, Charleston Catholic overcame an early deficit, scoring 9 runs in the fifth and sixth innings to knock off Wahama 12 to 6. Sectional Semifinals continue Thursday.
